Classified staff and administrators receive salary increases

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — In a unanimous vote, the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees approved step and off-schedule salary increases for the district's classified employees and administrators. Trustees approve modest pay increase for directors amid funding uncertainty

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — The Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees unanimously approved a one-step and 1 percent salary increase for district directors and supervisors for the 2026-2027 school year, opting to maintain the current salary schedule rather than adopting a new one. Rock Springs High School freshman orientation shifts to fall schedule

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Addressing community confusion over changes to the traditional spring transition day, district administrators explained that incoming Rock Springs High School freshmen will instead attend a dedicated orientation on Aug. 17, 2026. The new fall schedule allows students to walk through their actual first-semester schedules, meet their teachers and practice riding the bus to participate in the Rock Springs High School Freshman Academy program without the crowded hallways of upperclassmen. A parent informational meeting will precede the orientation on Aug. 10, 2026.
