SALINA, Kan. - The Salina USD 305 Board of Education approved a $548,644 contract with ROI Energy to install LED lighting at five local elementary schools. The energy-efficient infrastructure upgrades will take place at Coronado, Cottonwood, Heusner, Meadowlark and Schilling elementary schools. The expenditure was approved unanimously without debate as part of the board's consent agenda.

SALINA, Kan. - Future construction projects at Salina Central and Salina South high schools took a step forward with the board's approval of $32,400 for schematic design work. The contract was awarded to the Salina-based architectural firm Jones Gillam Renz Architects, signaling the early planning stages for upcoming facility improvements at Salina's two primary high schools.
Board allocates over $150,000 for district vehicle fleet upgrades
SALINA, Kan. - Salina Public Schools is upgrading its transportation fleet following the approval of two separate vehicle bids totaling more than $150,000. The board approved an $88,932 bid to local vendor Conklin Cars Salina for a mid-sized vehicle, as well as a $62,750 bid to Don Hattan Chevrolet, a Wichita-area dealership that frequently fulfills state and municipal fleet contracts, for a sport utility vehicle.
Spring student-athletes honored with Superintendent's Excellence Awards
SALINA, Kan. - Superintendent Heath Hogan and the board honored dozens of student-athletes from Salina Central and Salina South high schools with Superintendent's Excellence Awards. The recognitions, presented by USD 305 Director of Communications Olivia Opat, highlighted outstanding student achievements in spring activities, including baseball, boys golf, boys tennis, swimming and diving, and track and field.
