Bond sales expected to come in under budget

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Board of Education authorized district administration to proceed with selling remaining bonds after Jan. 15 to lock in favorable interest rates. Greg Vahrenberg, a bond financial advisor with Raymond James, reported that the district will likely issue the bonds at a lower average interest rate than anticipated during the election period. The advisor noted this financial position allows the district to deliver promised projects to taxpayers at or below projected costs.
