Sumner Mental Health Center Offers Parenting Course

WELLINGTON — Sumner Mental Health Center is offering a six-week parenting course beginning in February.

The "Parenting the Love & Logic Way" program is designed to create happy families and responsible children through simple, easy-to-learn techniques, according to the Sumner County Health Department.

Participants will learn methods to teach responsibility and character, lower stress levels and achieve immediate positive effects. The program also addresses parenting challenges during the teenage years, helping parents remain calm instead of frantic.

The six-session class will begin Feb. 2, 2026, and run through March 16, 2026, with no class on Presidents Day. Sessions will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Registration is free for those who sign up by Jan. 12. After Jan. 12, the cost is $50 for non-clients.

Interested participants should register by completing a form with their name, phone number and email address and returning it to the receptionist at Sumner Mental Health Center.
