Sumner County Selected for National Rural Investment Summit
SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. — Sumner County Economic Development has been selected as a SelectUSA Invest in Rural America Award recipient and will attend the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit May 3-5 in Washington, D.C.
SelectUSA is the federal program focused on promoting and facilitating business investment in the United States. The Investment Summit is its premier annual event, bringing together leaders, investors and communities from across the country and around the world.
The recognition places Sumner County on a national stage, highlighting the strength and potential of rural America, according to county officials. It reflects the power of partnership at the local, regional and state levels.
"We are especially grateful to the Kansas Department of Commerce for their leadership and support, which played a key role in our selection," the Sumner County Economic Development Commission said in a statement.
Officials said they are honored to represent Sumner County and rural Kansas at the summit.
Sumner County is located in south-central Kansas along the Oklahoma border.
