Sumner County Deputies Seize 3.6 Pounds of Meth During Traffic Stop on US 160

SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. — Sumner County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered 3.6 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 1 gram of marijuana during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 160 on Sunday, May 3.

Deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:36 a.m. for speeding. During the stop, two bags were thrown from the vehicle. A search of the bags revealed the methamphetamine, marijuana and other distribution materials.

The Sumner County Sheriff's Office has deputies assigned to the Wichita Property and Crimes Task Force. Through that partnership, information had been shared that the subject operating the vehicle may be involved in illegal drug activity.

No arrest information was included in the release.
