Sumner County 911 Seeks Community Members to 'Adopt a Dispatcher' During Appreciation Week

SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. — Sumner County 911 is inviting individuals, groups, churches and businesses to participate in an "Adopt a Dispatcher" program ahead of National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week, April 12-18.

Those who participate will be matched with a dispatcher and encouraged to show appreciation through gifts or gestures during the week, such as handwritten notes, snacks or gift cards. Participants will be provided with a list of their dispatcher's likes, favorite colors and preferred snacks to help make the process easy.

The deadline to sign up is Friday, April 10, provided enough community members participate to ensure every dispatcher is adopted.

To sign up, interested parties should send a message to the Sumner County 911 Facebook page including their name and/or organization and how many dispatchers they would like to adopt.
