Standfast Records 13 Saves as McPherson Drops Close Contests in Varsity and JV Action
Bullpups fall to Andover Central

MCPHERSON — The McPherson High School boys soccer teams dropped a pair of close matches to Andover Central on Tuesday, with both the varsity and junior varsity squads falling 2-1.
The varsity Bullpups fought hard but couldn't overcome an early deficit despite a second-half goal from Manny Morales, who found the back of the net on an assist from Grayson Broadus. Goalkeeper Gabe Standfast kept McPherson in the game with an outstanding performance, recording 13 saves against the Jaguars' attack.
McPherson managed just three shots on goal in the contest, unable to generate enough offensive pressure to complete the comeback.
The JV squad matched the varsity's effort, also falling 2-1 to Andover Central. Farzad Saifi provided the lone goal for the Bullpups in the junior varsity match.
