Stage 9 opens auditions for 'Into the Breeches' as 'Ride The Cyclone' prepares for July run

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Stage 9 theater will hold auditions for its upcoming production of "Into the Breeches" on July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and July 20 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with director Wes Bartlett leading the casting process.
No advance preparation is required for auditions. Audition sides will be posted on Stage 9's Facebook page, and specific scenes can be requested by texting Bartlett at 620-960-2299. Actors unable to attend scheduled audition times may arrange alternative appointments through the same contact number.
Prospective performers should arrive 10 to 15 minutes before their audition time to complete forms and review audition materials. Group practice sessions may be organized before individual auditions take place on stage.
Character information including approximate age and ethnicity requirements will be available at auditions or can be obtained in advance by contacting the director.
Meanwhile, Stage 9 prepares to launch "Ride The Cyclone," running July 31 through Aug. 3. The production follows six members of the St. Cassian Chamber Choir who encounter an unexpected fate while attending a traveling carnival for a choir competition.
Jaiden Montandon headlines the cast as Ocean O'Connell Rosenburg, described as the most accomplished student in the fictional town of Uranium City, Saskatchewan. The musical explores themes of mortality and second chances as the characters work to reverse their supernatural predicament with help from the fortune-telling machine The Amazing Karnak.
"Ride The Cyclone" will be performed Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The theater advises the production contains mature language and themes not suitable for children.
