Spilski Named Manhattan High School Athletic Director and Assistant Principal

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Shadwin Spilski has been appointed as Manhattan High School's new Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, the USD 383 Board of Education announced following their February 18 meeting. Spilski, who currently serves as Athletic Director and Director of Innovation for Lapeer Community Schools in Michigan, will assume his new role in July 2026, replacing the retiring Mike Marsh.

Spilski brings extensive experience to Manhattan High School, having led athletics in Lapeer since 2014 and previously serving as Athletic/Activities Director at Buffalo High School in Wyoming for four years. The University of Wyoming graduate, who also holds a master's degree in Education Administration from Chadron State University, expressed his excitement about joining the Manhattan community. "I am incredibly humbled and honored to be leading the traditions and excellency of Manhattan High School," Spilski said. Manhattan High School Principal Michael Dorst praised the selection, noting that references from Spilski's current district indicated he "has made a tremendous impact and will be greatly missed."
