The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber welcomed The Lantern Room, a 1920s-inspired speakeasy inside Hutchinson's historic Meyer Landmark Apartments, as a new member Thursday, Oct. 22.

In a Facebook post announcing the membership, the Chamber said the speakeasy, a bar styled after the hidden drinking spots of Prohibition, offers classic cocktails, modern creations and a curated selection of high-end bourbon and wine.

"With a passion for preserving local history and creating unique experiences, The Lantern Room is a wonderful addition to Hutchinson’s business community," the Chamber said in its post. The post does not say whether the bar has opened, and it gives no hours, address or entrance location.

According to prior Hutch Post coverage, the Meyer building dates to 1923 and has undergone a large-scale restoration, and the speakeasy was among the new commercial tenants announced for it. The building's official website also lists a speakeasy among its new offerings.
