Southwestern College Offers Scholarships Through Talent Competitions
WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College is accepting applications for full-tuition scholarship competitions in education and the performing arts.
The Education Division and Performing Arts departments are each hosting competitions Jan. 31 on campus. Applications are due Jan. 20 and can be submitted online from a phone.
Finalists will receive invitations to participate in the on-campus competitions, which will be hosted by faculty and students. Each finalist who attends will receive a renewable $1,000 scholarship.
Based on competition performance and additional qualifications, two incoming first-year students will be selected to receive renewable full-tuition scholarships — one planning to major in education and one who will participate in performing arts.
The application process is designed to be simple and accessible, according to the college. Interested students can find more information, including videos from faculty about the competition process, through a link on the college's social media.
The private liberal arts college is located in Winfield in south-central Kansas and enrolls approximately 1,500 students across its campuses and online programs.
