Hutchinson Regional Medical Center offers free CPR training event

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Regional Medical Center will host a free community CPR training session next week as part of its ongoing health education outreach efforts.
The "First Course" lunch-and-learn event is scheduled for July 14 from noon to 1 p.m. at the HRMC Pavilion, located at 1701 E. 23rd Ave. The session will focus on recognizing and understanding cardiac events, including hands-only CPR techniques.
"This informative lunch & learn will give you the tools to act confidently in a cardiac emergency," according to the hospital's Facebook announcement.
The training will be presented by HRMC clinical educators Bobbie Starks, RN, and Courtney Eales, RN. The session is designed to teach participants hands-only CPR, which organizers describe as "a quick, effective technique that anyone can learn."
Lunch will be provided to attendees, but seating is limited. Community members can register by scanning a QR code or visiting hutchregional.com/firstcourse.
The hands-only CPR method differs from traditional CPR by focusing on chest compressions without mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, making it easier for bystanders to perform during emergencies.
