South Haven Post Office Burglarized; Stolen Mail Recovered in Oklahoma
SOUTH HAVEN, Kan. — The Sumner County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary at the South Haven Post Office that occurred in the early morning hours of Feb. 12, 2026.
Several items were removed from the facility, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. The stolen mail was later recovered in Oklahoma, though it is unknown if all items were located.
Investigators determined that much of the opened and damaged financial documents, including bank statements and credit card applications, were removed from the facility.
Residents are encouraged to review their financial documents and report any suspicious activity to their financial institutions.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the incident with assistance from the United States Postal Inspection Service.
