Soil Health Workshop to Focus on Cover Crops, Farm Operations
WINFIELD, Kan. — The Cowley Conservation District will host a Soil Health Day on Jan. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Baden Square in Winfield, featuring presentations on improving soil health and strengthening farm operations.
The event will include four speakers addressing various aspects of soil management and conservation practices. A smoked brisket lunch will be provided to attendees.
Morgan Pearman and Alex Miller will present on soil health principles, while Darrin Williams will discuss using cover crops to promote soil health and wildlife diversity.
Nathan Esau will speak on incorporating perennials in rotations, and Michael Thompson will address adding cover crops to improve farm operations.
The workshop is designed to help farmers and landowners learn strategies for enhancing soil quality through conservation practices.
