Smoky Valley announces back-to-school information
LINDSBORG, Kan. — USD 400 Smoky Valley School District is gearing up for the upcoming academic year with comprehensive back-to-school preparations designed to ensure students and families have the resources they need for a successful start.
The district, which serves students in central Kansas, has released detailed information to help families prepare for the new school year, including important dates, supply lists and enrollment procedures.
"We're excited to welcome our students back and want to make sure families have all the information they need to start the year off right," said district officials.
The Smoky Valley website, https://www.smokyvalley.org/page/back-to-school includes all parents and students need to know about returning to school this year. Returning students have the option to complete online enrollment.
Smoky Valley School District offers online enrollment for returning students. The schools mail enrollment packets containing online enrollment instructions and details over the summer. If you are unable to complete the online enrollment, computers and assistance is available in each building.
New students must complete in-person enrollment. Please contact the school office to enroll. Enrollment will open on July 29 with office hours from 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The 2025-26 school start dates and times are as follows:
August 11 first day of school for all teachers.
August 14 first day of school for K-9 with 1:30 p.m. dismissal time.
August 15 first day of school for grades 10-12 and 3- and 4-year-old preschool.
Regular school times are as follows:
Soderstrom Elementary K-4: 8:10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Soderstrom Elementary Pre-K A.M. Class - 8:10 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.
Soderstrom Elementary Pre-K P.M. Class - 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Smoky Valley Middle School: 8:15 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.
Smoky Valley High School: 8:15 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.
