Smoky Hill River Festival celebrates 50th anniversary as gates open
Organizers expect 60,000 attendees for the four-day 'Epic Arts Party'
SALINA — More than 60,000 visitors are expected to flood Oakdale Park starting Thursday as the Smoky Hill River Festival opens its 50th anniversary "Epic Arts Party." The four-day celebration features 130 exhibiting artists, more than 30 food vendors and dozens of live musical acts, highlighted by a Friday performance from Grammy-winning country group Diamond Rio. Weekend admission wristbands are available at the gates for $20, while children 11 and younger are admitted free.
