Shade Structures Complete at Downtown Plaza
New permanent coverings protect stage area and seating spaces at Main and Marlin gathering spot.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — Permanent shade structures have been completed at The Plaza downtown gathering space at Main and Marlin, providing cover for both the stage area and adjacent seating through a community-funded project approved by the City Commission last October. The installation by Happy Playgrounds was made possible through $23,000 in private donations channeled through the McPherson County Community Foundation, including a contribution from residents Sid and Wendy Johnson for the stage covering, while McPherson Main Street funded the remaining costs for table and seating area shade with assistance from a McPherson Rotary Club grant.
