Shade structure to be officially dedicated at McPherson's Downtown Plaza
Dedication ceremony will precede Wednesday's Music on the Plaza concert
MCPHERSON, Kan. — A newly completed shade structure over the Downtown Plaza stage will provide welcome relief for visitors to downtown McPherson during the summer concert season. The McPherson Public Lands and Facilities Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Marlin and Main streets to officially dedicate the addition, which was funded by a donation from Sid and Wendy Johnson. The public is invited to attend the brief unveiling just before the scheduled noon Music on the Plaza event, an improvement that complements a recent $7,500 community grant awarded to McPherson Main Street to further enhance the outdoor venue with additional seating and green space.
