Widespread damage and power outages prompt suspension of educational and food programs
SALINA, Kan. — Severe thunderstorms forced Salina Public Schools to cancel all summer learning and food programs Wednesday. Olivia Opat, the district's director of communications, announced that operations at Heartland Early Education, the Salina Adult Education Center and special education programs were suspended, while district office services temporarily relocated to the Hageman Education Center.
