Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rev. Adam Hamilton is set to speak from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in Pearson Chapel at Bethany College, at an event the college says is open to all.

Bethany College Campus Ministry is hosting the appearance as part of its educational and ecumenical programming. The college bills it as a conversation about faith, vocation, citizenship and public life, followed by a 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. reception for selected members of the campus community.

Hamilton is a United Methodist pastor and the founding senior pastor of Resurrection. The college's announcement states, "Rev. Hamilton’s appearance does not constitute an endorsement of any political candidacy by Bethany College."

Hamilton is challenging Republican Sen. Roger Marshall in a race national political outlets have covered, in a state that typically votes reliably Republican.

An internal poll commissioned by Hamilton's campaign and conducted by GBAO shows him leading Marshall by five points, 49% to 44% head-to-head, and 46% to 41% in a three-way race with Libertarian David Graham at 7%.

The poll surveyed 600 likely voters Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Emerson College Polling has also published Kansas 2026 election data, and Kansas outlets have reported polling showing a close race.

Citizen Journal interviewed Hamilton in July about his family, health care and religion.
