NEWTON, Kan. — Sand Creek Station will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a community golf scramble Saturday, July 11, marking two decades of national prestige and local economic impact for the Newton municipal course.

Since its debut, the 18-hole facility has drawn thousands of competitors to the region under the continuous management of KemperSports, which recently earned a city contract extension through 2032. The course generated more than $2 million in revenue across 36,646 rounds played in 2024.

Designed by architect Jeffrey D. Brauer, the course has elevated Newton into a premier Midwest golf destination by hosting prominent events including the 2014 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, the 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open and multiple NJCAA National Championships.

The anniversary scramble will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the course, 920 Meadowbrook Drive, bringing together residents, sponsors and partners to honor the facility's ongoing success. Players can register online or call the pro shop at 316-284-6161.
