Late in the first quarter, the Salthawks failed to cover an Eagle kickoff, giving Maize the football on the Hutchinson two-yard line. The ensuing touchdown made the score 18-0 at the end of the first quarter.
This scoring dominance continued throughout the first half, with Maize leading 38-0 at the break. Maize standouts were seniors Colt Curry and Pearce George.
