Saline County Commission reviews 2027 funding requests in study session
Commissioners hear preliminary department pitches ahead of formal budget hearings
SALINA, Kan. — The Saline County Commission met Tuesday to review 2027 funding requests from county departments, marking an early step in determining next year's local property tax rates and service levels. During the study session, the five-member commission evaluated high-level financial priorities alongside County Administrator Matt Stiles, with Chairwoman Annie Grevas presiding. The internal presentations will shape the county's preliminary budget framework, while a newly established seven-member Social Services Funding Advisory Committee will help evaluate outside agency funding requests before formal public hearings begin later this summer.
