Salina Regional Health Center records lowest hospital readmission rate in Kansas
Becker's Hospital Review report highlights facility's low patient return rate
SALINA, Kan. — Salina Regional Health Center has been recognized as the top-rated full-service hospital in Kansas for maintaining a patient readmission rate of 13.2%, well below the national average of 15.0%. The ranking, based on federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data compiled by Becker's Hospital Review, places the facility among only four full-service Kansas hospitals to earn a spot on the national list. Dr. Robert Freelove, the center's senior vice president and chief medical officer, credited the milestone to collaborative staff efforts and robust post-discharge initiatives, including transitional care services and a Meds-to-Beds program.
