SALINA, Kan. - The Salina City Commission discussed expected increases in property and casualty insurance costs during a recent study session as city officials prepared for the upcoming budget impact.
City advances funding for new Fire Station No. 4
SALINA, Kan. - Construction of the new Fire Station No. 4 is moving forward after city commissioners approved a $9.1 million funding plan using a mix of cash and debt for the project, which represents a significant public investment in safety infrastructure.
Old fire station re-zoned for city maintenance operations
SALINA, Kan. - The former Fire Station No. 4 at 663 Briarcliff Road is set to become the city's facility maintenance operations building. An application filed on behalf of the city of Salina's facilities maintenance division sought rezoning from single-family residential to public facilities to allow the reuse.
Sunset Park war memorial improvements move ahead
SALINA, Kan. - City officials approved a development agreement with the Salina Saline County War Memorial, Inc. for improvements to the Sunset Park War Memorial, clearing the way for updates to the community landmark.
New office building planned near East Crawford Street
SALINA, Kan. - An amendment to the Wilbur Planned Development District would allow SRH Advisors, LLC to construct a new office building on the east side of Crawford Place north of Crawford Street and east of Marymount Road. In the same hearing cycle, a separate rezoning request from Nine South Development LLC involving the Replat of Nine South Addition on South Ninth Street was also filed to support additional commercial development.
