ReUse It Center donates to STEPMC and McPherson Housing Coalition through April benevolent distributions
Local nonprofits direct funds toward poverty relief, community volunteerism, and home repair assistance for low-income and senior homeowners.
Two McPherson-area nonprofits are the focus of this month's benevolent distributions, each working in distinct but complementary ways to improve the lives of community members facing economic hardship.
STEPMC operates on a straightforward but powerful mission: to walk alongside people until they are out of poverty. The organization provides a structured framework for building relationships across economic and class lines, fostering connections between community members and creating clear pathways of opportunity and success for those working to overcome financial hardship.
Also receiving support this month is Brush Up Mac, a one-day community event hosted by the McPherson Housing Coalition. The program brings volunteers together to assist low-income and senior homeowners with minor home repairs and yard cleanup — work that many residents are physically or financially unable to undertake on their own.
The McPherson Housing Coalition coordinates the event, connecting skilled volunteers with homeowners who would otherwise have no means to maintain or improve their properties.
