The ReUse It Center wrapped up 2025 with remarkable generosity, donating a record-breaking $108,250 to local nonprofit organizations serving McPherson County and surrounding communities.

Store Manager Shulah Neff announced the milestone donations, which included an additional $60,000 given at year's end after reviewing the store's annual performance.

The success would not be possible without two essential groups, according to Neff: the center's dedicated volunteers and loyal shoppers who support the mission week after week.

Equally important are the shoppers who believe in the ReUse It Center's mission to serve the community, knowing their purchases directly fund local nonprofits providing critical services to those in greatest need.

Organizations receiving donations in 2025 included Omega Project, McPherson Housing Coalition (MHC), McPherson Food Bank, STEPMC, Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), Moundridge Ministries, McPherson Ministerial Alliance, Inman Ministerial Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, Outreach McPherson, McPherson Senior Center, Canton/Galva Ministerial Alliance, and Marquette Ministerial Alliance.

Representatives from the nonprofits gathered at the ReUse It Center to receive their donations, joined by volunteers and board members who make the operation possible.

The ReUse It Center operates as a thrift store where all proceeds benefit local charitable organizations serving McPherson County residents. Volunteers staff the store, process donations, and assist customers, keeping operational costs minimal to maximize charitable giving.

Board Chair Carol Fithian joined Neff in presenting several of the donations, while volunteers including Allan Sents, Carol Ingermanson, Curt Deneke, and Gary Stucky also participated in the presentation ceremonies.

The 2025 donation total represents a significant increase over previous years, demonstrating growing community support for both the ReUse It Center and the vital services provided by recipient organizations.
