ReUse It Center Distributes May Benevolent Funds to Three Local Organizations
McPherson thrift store continues mission of giving back, supporting recovery, housing and youth fitness programs
McPHERSON — The ReUse It Center announced its May 2026 benevolent distributions, directing funds to three McPherson-area organizations focused on recovery, housing and youth development.
The Omega Project, a faith-based recovery program offering lifestyle transformation for men and women facing addiction, homelessness or incarceration, was among the recipients. The program provides housing, training, work opportunities and connection with others who have overcome addictive lifestyles. Board member Darlene Harms represented the ReUse It Center alongside Jessie Rudder from Omega for the presentation.
McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity also received a distribution. The local chapter of the global nonprofit housing organization works to eliminate substandard housing through home construction, rehabilitation and preservation while advocating for fair housing policies. Terry Salter accepted on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, joined by ReUse It Center volunteer Curt Deneke.
The third recipient was Forging Youth Resilience, known as FYR Mac-Town, which provides free functional fitness, nutritional education and mentorship to at-promise and underserved youth in McPherson. The program emphasizes that access to exercise and a supportive community can transform young lives regardless of socioeconomic status. Meaghan Reamy represented FYR alongside Deneke.
The ReUse It Center, a local thrift store, regularly distributes proceeds to community organizations through its benevolent giving program.
