The ReUse It Center continued its mission of giving back to the McPherson community in February, presenting donation checks to four local organizations making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Among the recipients was The Omega Project, a faith-based recovery program that provides housing, training, and lifestyle transformation for men and women who might otherwise face jail or homelessness. Adam Mason and Troy Melroy accepted the donation on behalf of the organization.

The McPherson Ministerial Alliance, a cooperative effort among most McPherson churches, also received a check in support of its emergency fund that helps individuals and families in crisis with food, utilities, rent, and other urgent needs. Lynn Scott represented the alliance at the presentation.

The McPherson Housing Coalition was recognized as well for its work developing affordable, quality housing for seniors, working families, and individuals across the community. Director of Supportive Services Karolyn Moore and Executive Director Chris Goodson accepted on behalf of MHC, which operates programs including Brush Up Mac, Oak Harbor Cottages, and Sutherland Estates.

Rounding out the February donations was the Mennonite Central Committee, a global nonprofit dedicated to sharing God's love through disaster relief and economic development in under-developed countries. Maynard Knepp represented MCC at the check presentation. ReUse It Center volunteer Ernie Smyres, along with fellow volunteer Amber Stucky, were on hand to help present the donations, reflecting the center's ongoing commitment to strengthening the McPherson community through generous local partnerships.
