ReUse It Center Announces June Benevolent Distributions to Three Organizations
Local thrift store directs funds to senior services, affordable housing and global relief efforts
McPHERSON — The ReUse It Center has announced its June 2026 benevolent distributions, providing funds to three organizations serving the local community and beyond.
The McPherson Senior Center, a nonprofit established in 1979, was among the recipients. The center's mission is to maintain and enhance the lives of McPherson's elderly residents by serving as a hub for information, resources and services for older citizens and their families. Sally Scott accepted on behalf of the Senior Center, joined by ReUse It Center volunteer Curt Deneke.
The McPherson Housing Coalition also received a distribution. MHC is an alliance of community members dedicated to developing and implementing programs that provide affordable, quality housing to eligible families. The coalition operates several programs including Brush Up Mac, Oak Harbor Cottages and Sutherland Estates, all aimed at improving quality of life and economic stability for seniors, working families and individuals. Karolyn Moore, Director of Supportive Services, and Executive Director Chris Goodson represented MHC, alongside Carol Fithian, Board Chair for the ReUse It Center.
The third recipient was Mennonite Central Committee, a global nonprofit focused on sharing compassion through disaster relief and economic development support in under-developed countries. MCC is committed to building relationships with local partners and churches worldwide.
The ReUse It Center, a local thrift store, regularly distributes proceeds to community organizations through its benevolent giving program.
