Reno County to hold Planning Commission Hearing on zoning changes

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Aug. 21 to consider proposed amendments to building setbacks, lot dimensions and agricultural lot split requirements in the county's zoning regulations.
The hearing is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Reno County Public Works building at 1600 Scott Boulevard S. The commission will review Case 2025-09, which proposes changes to building setbacks, lot dimensions and agricultural/homestead lot split requirements in the Zoning and Subdivision Regulations.
Details about the proposed amendments are available at www.renocountyks.gov. The hearing provides an opportunity for public input on the regulatory changes.

Meanwhile, county officials announced that eligible low-income seniors can apply for $50 vouchers to purchase fresh produce at local farmers markets beginning Wednesday. The Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers can be used to buy fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey from participating vendors.
Applications are available through walk-in appointments only at the Reno County Department of Aging, 120 W. Avenue B, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. while supplies last. Applicants must be 60 or older, or 55 if part of a tribal organization, and meet income guidelines. One voucher booklet is allowed per household on a first-come, first-served basis.
