Reno County Emergency Officials Close Multiple Roads Due to Flooding

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Emergency Management announced the closure of several roads across the county due to flooding conditions as of 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
The following roads have been closed to traffic:
• 95th Dean to Sallee • Sallee 82nd to 95th • Wilson 69th to 95th • 69th Wilson to Pennington • 50th Wilson to Pennington • Pennington 43rd to 69th • 43rd Pennington to Hendrick
Emergency officials reminded motorists to avoid driving through flooded roadways, emphasizing the safety message "Turn Around Don't Drown."
The closures were announced through the county's official Emergency Management Facebook page, which serves 12,000 followers. The page notes it is not actively monitored during emergencies and directs residents needing emergency assistance to contact 911.
