Elementary school students across Reno County are receiving free admission to Hutchinson Community College athletic events this year through a partnership between the Blue Dragon Sports Network and Peoples Bank & Trust. The annual tradition provides Blue Dragon MVP Cards to every kindergarten through sixth-grade student in the Hutchinson, Buhler, Nickerson and Haven school districts. The cards grant free entry to all Blue Dragon football and basketball games for the 2026-27 season.

Deliveries kicked off Monday when Hutchinson Community College Athletic Director Josh Gooch, mascot Duke the Dragon and bank representatives handed out the passes at elementary schools in the Hutchinson and Buhler areas. The remaining cards are scheduled to be distributed to students in the Nickerson and Haven districts later this week. According to organizers, the yearly initiative aims to foster a love for sports among local youth while bringing more community members to college sporting events.
