Reno County Child Care Task Force names Heather Faulkner executive director of Kids Collective

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Child Care Task Force has named Heather Faulkner as the founding executive director of Kids Collective, a new nonprofit organization focused on strengthening the region's child care system.
Faulkner, a Hutchinson native with more than 25 years of experience in early childhood leadership, will lead the organization's efforts to support child care providers, strengthen the workforce and expand access to quality care for families across the region.
"We're thrilled to announce Heather Faulkner as the founding Executive Director of Kids Collective, a new nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger, more sustainable child care system in our community," the task force announced Friday.
The organization said Faulkner brings "deep expertise and unmatched passion" to the role. Under her leadership, Kids Collective will work to address child care challenges facing Reno County families and providers.
The announcement was made through the Hutchinson Community Foundation, which has served as "the heart of philanthropic giving in Reno County" since 1989.

In other HCF news, Hutchinson High School student Adrianna Peach has received a $1,000 scholarship from the HHS Class of 1962 Scholarship fund held at the Hutchinson Community Foundation.
The award was announced Friday by the foundation, which has administered scholarship funds for local students since its founding in 1989.
Peach is a member of Hutchinson High School's Class of 2025. Details about her academic achievements or future college plans were not immediately available.
The HHS Class of 1962 Scholarship fund is one of several scholarship programs managed by the Hutchinson Community Foundation to support local students pursuing higher education.
