MANHATTAN, Kan. — Kansas drivers who travel the 32-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 24 between Riley and Pottawatomie counties can now weigh in on future safety and traffic flow improvements. The Kansas Department of Transportation is updating its U.S. 24 Corridor Management Plan to evaluate potential infrastructure upgrades from U.S. Highway 77 in Riley County to Airport Road just east of Wamego, seeking to address the region's continued growth. State officials are forgoing formal presentations in favor of two casual open houses and an online survey designed to gather direct public feedback.

Following an initial session Monday at the Wamego Senior & Community Center, 501 Ash St., KDOT is hosting a second open house Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Pottorf Hall at Manhattan's CiCo Park, 1710 Avery Ave. Attendees may drop in at any time to review project details and speak with state team members. For those unable to attend in person, the same information is available on KDOT's Northeast Kansas project webpage. The agency is asking residents and travelers to submit feedback via an online survey before it closes July 8.
