PrairieStar Health Center to Offer Free Sports Physicals for Students

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — PrairieStar Health Center will host free sports physicals for middle and high school students Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its pediatrics department.
The five-hour event will take place at the health center's facility at 2700 E. 30th Ave. in Hutchinson. The physicals are being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis to help students meet requirements for athletic participation.
Students who arrive without a parent or guardian must bring completed paperwork with a guardian's signature, according to the event organizers. Families can download and complete the necessary forms in advance through the Kansas State High School Activities Association website, https://www.kshsaa.org/public/pdf/form-ppe.pdf
The health center announced the event through social media, where 25 people have indicated interest in attending. The event is open to the public and does not require advance registration.
Sports physicals are typically required before students can participate in school athletic programs. The free clinic aims to help families who may face financial barriers to obtaining the mandatory health screenings.
PrairieStar Health Center serves the Hutchinson area and surrounding communities in central Kansas. The facility provides comprehensive healthcare services including pediatric care.
For more information about the event or to access required paperwork, families can visit the health center's website or contact the pediatrics department directly, https://www.pshcks.org/.
