Ideally, you want to get 20 to 40 g of protein within 30 minutes or so of your workout. You’re aiming for the higher end if you’ve done a lot of resistance training. While timing is definitely beneficial, the bottom line is you just have to get that protein in. Eating a well balanced snack or meal with protein, carbs and fats is gonna leave you feeling full for much longer. You’re gonna have more balanced hormones and you’re not going to have a big dip in your blood sugar levels, which is important for sustaining good energy throughout the day.
