Police Banquet Honors Officers, Bids Farewell to Mayor Brown
Annual event recognizes department achievements and welcomes new leadership
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The 2025 McPherson Police Appreciation Banquet celebrated outstanding service while marking a transition in city leadership. Mayor Tom Brown received a retirement plaque recognizing his 16 years of service, while Mayor-Elect Jim Loving addressed attendees with words of encouragement. The event, catered by The Cedars with assistance from the K-Club, brought together current officers, retirees, and families for an evening of recognition.
Officer Barton Miller earned multiple honors including Officer of the Year and a Life Saving Award, while Supervisor of the Year went to Ayeshah McFall. Scott Brunsell received the Medal of Merit for 25 years of service, and several officers were recognized for milestone service anniversaries. Special guests included Honorary Police Officers Isaiah and Rhys Seirer, children battling cancer, highlighting the department's community connections. The ceremony also featured numerous professional achievement awards and commendations for exceptional work throughout the year.
