Northview Sidewalk Project Nears Completion in McPherson
Latest phase extends 10-foot path from Veranda to Highway 81 Bypass, connecting to Meadowlark Trail
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The most recent phase of the Northview Avenue 10-foot sidewalk project is wrapping up, with crews this week backfilling and seeding grass along the new paths. Workers were expected to install new crosswalk signals at Grimes Street and Northview on Thursday afternoon before beginning final cleanup. The project was funded through the Kansas Department of Transportation's Transportation Alternatives Grant program.
With this phase complete, the 10-foot sidewalk now runs from Veranda west to the Highway 81 Bypass, where it connects to the Meadowlark Trail. The project also included drainage upgrades along the south side of Northview and a new five-foot sidewalk from Grimes Street west to Main Street, with funding assistance from Disability Supports of the Great Plains. More information on the TA program is available at ksdot.gov.
