NEWTON, Kan. — Residents face temporary daytime street closures lasting eight to 10 hours and the risk of vehicle towing through Thursday as city crews resurface six local roadways. The daily maintenance begins at 7 a.m., shutting down sections of Southwest Fourth, Sixth and Ninth streets, as well as Southeast 10th, 12th and 13th streets, to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a slurry seal application. City officials will alert affected households one business day in advance with front-door notices, warning that any cars left parked on the scheduled routes during the application and drying process will be towed at the owner's expense.
