The intersection of Southeast 14th Connector and South Spencer Road in Newton closes today for about 30 days as part of the final phase of a street reconstruction project.

South Spencer Road will remain open to southbound traffic only between the connector and Southeast 14th Street, while eastbound motorists will be detoured north along Washington Road and Main Street to First Street.

Contractor Kansas Paving is handling the roadwork, marking the last leg of South Spencer improvements that began in spring 2025.
