Nebraska Man Killed in Crash at I-135/K-61 Interchange Near McPherson
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the victim as 69-year-old Mickey Mitani of Bellevue, Neb.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — A 69-year-old Bellevue, Neb., man was killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash at the I-135/K-61 interchange southeast of McPherson. The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the victim as Mickey Mitani. According to the patrol, Mitani was eastbound on K-61 when he failed to negotiate the left-hand turn onto the northbound I-135 on-ramp. His vehicle went airborne and came to rest on its top approximately 300 feet east of the interstate. Mitani was pronounced dead at the scene.
