Moundridge Volleyball Sweeps Doubleheader in Inman

The Moundridge High School volleyball team opened their season with an impressive doubleheader sweep Tuesday night in Inman, defeating both Sedgwick and Wichita Classical to get their campaign off to a strong start.

The Wildcats showcased their depth in the opening match against Sedgwick, with multiple players contributing across all statistical categories. Cammi Unruh led the offensive attack with 12 kills while adding 16 digs defensively. Macy Kaminkow contributed 8 kills to complement Unruh's efforts.

Halle Hecox orchestrated the offense with 16 assists, while teammate Payton Wilson added 9 assists. Defensively, Hattie Hecox anchored the back row with 17 digs, supported by Unruh's 16 and Addy Patrick's 14 digs. At the net, Aspyn Stos recorded 2 blocks with Harper Rierson adding one block to limit Sedgwick's attacking options.

The second match against Wichita Classical saw Halle Hecox take control from the service line, recording an impressive 7 aces. Harper Rierson led the attack with 4 kills, while Kaminkow added 3 kills and 6 digs.

"To battle through our first 3-game match of the year in front of a boisterous crowd will hopefully aid us going forward, especially later in the year," said head coach Bryan Otte.

The Wildcats will look to build on their opening success at the Goessel Invitational on Saturday, where a potential rematch with Sedgwick awaits depending on bracket results.
