Moundridge Escapes with Thrilling 28-21 Road Victory Over Medicine Lodge

Moundridge High School's football team overcame a late tie to defeat Medicine Lodge 28-21 on the road Friday night, with senior quarterback Kaizer Kanitz delivering a dominant performance that included 254 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. The Wildcats found themselves in a back-and-forth battle that saw Medicine Lodge tie the game 21-21 in the fourth quarter on a 34-yard touchdown run by Braxx Farr, who finished with 190 rushing yards and two scores for the Indians. However, Moundridge answered immediately with Kanitz's third rushing touchdown of the night, a 23-yard scamper that proved to be the game-winner.

Kanitz's explosive running ability was on full display throughout the contest, highlighted by touchdown runs of 61, 86, and 23 yards, while also contributing 66 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Heath Churchill. The victory required Moundridge to overcome several costly mistakes, including penalties and turnovers, but the team's ground game and defensive effort proved decisive in the final moments. "We were able to overcome a plethora of mistakes tonight to bring home a win," said the Moundridge coach. "We leaned on our run game and defense down the stretch. It was a big win on the road and we look to build off of it next week!" The Wildcats totaled 261 rushing yards as a team and will look to carry this momentum into their next contest.
