Moundridge Dominates in 52-0 Shutout Victory Over Bennington
Wildcats Defense Forces Four Interceptions, Kanitz Accounts for Four Touchdowns

Moundridge High School delivered a statement performance Friday night, overwhelming Bennington 52-0 in a dominant display that showcased both offensive efficiency and defensive dominance. The Wildcats controlled the game from the opening drive, building a 14-0 first-quarter lead on a pair of touchdown passes from Kaizer Kanitz to Layton Schmidt, including scoring strikes of 1 and 17 yards. Kanitz finished with an outstanding all-around performance, completing 8 of 10 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns while adding 79 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground.
The Moundridge defense turned the game into a rout during the second quarter, forcing four Bennington turnovers and converting two into defensive touchdowns. Fynn Burge opened the defensive scoring barrage with a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown, followed by Paul Grill's 17-yard pick-six that extended the lead to 28-0. Grill capped off his exceptional night with a 52-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, while kicker Cyrus Blough provided the finishing touch with a perfect 7-for-7 performance on extra points and a 31-yard field goal. The Wildcats' defense completely stifled Bennington's offense, holding them to just 102 total yards while forcing four interceptions, as Moundridge improved to 1-0 on the season with the comprehensive victory.
