Moundridge Cruises Past Garden Plain to Reach Trojan Classic Championship
Wildcats improve to 13-1; will face Hesston for title Saturday
The Moundridge Wildcats dominated from start to finish Friday night, rolling past Garden Plain 68-40 to advance to the Trojan Classic championship game.
Moundridge (13-1) built a lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 40-21 at halftime. The Wildcats continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Garden Plain over the final two periods.
J. Lutz led all scorers with 23 points, connecting on multiple three-pointers throughout the contest. E. Shahan added 10 points for the Wildcats, while L. Schmidt and H. Churchill each contributed 9 points. K. Kanitz chipped in 7 points.
The balanced Moundridge attack proved too much for Garden Plain, as the Wildcats extended their winning streak and continued their impressive season.
Moundridge will face Hesston in the Trojan Classic championship game on Saturday.
