MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcats boys basketball team continued their strong start to the season with an impressive 66-40 victory over Elyria to improve to 2-0 on the young campaign.

The Wildcats built their victory on balanced scoring and strong offensive execution, putting up 66 points while spreading the offensive load across their roster.

Emmett Shahan led Moundridge with 20 points in an outstanding individual performance. The Wildcats also received significant contributions from their supporting cast, with J. Lutz adding 16 points, I. Schmidt scoring nine, K. Kanitz and H. Churchill each adding eight, and F. Burge contributing five points.

The home team controlled the tempo throughout, building leads and maintaining their advantage to secure the 26-point victory.

The Wildcats' defense proved to be the difference, limiting Elyria to 40 points while Moundridge's ability to score from multiple positions on the floor made them difficult to defend.

With the victory, Moundridge has now won its first two games of the season and will look to extend its winning streak when they host Lyons in their next contest.
