MMS A team dominates Winfield and Clearwater behind stellar all-around performances

MMS Lady Bullpups Roll to 12-0

The McPherson Middle School A team girls basketball squad continued their remarkable undefeated season this week, cruising past Winfield and Clearwater to improve to 12-0 under head coach Matt Sandbo.

MMS 52, Winfield 16 (December 8)

The Lady Bullpups overwhelmed Winfield in dominant fashion, building on their perfect record with a 52-16 victory. Eighth-grader Elles Pavlovich led the charge with an impressive stat line of 19 points, 12 steals, and 5 assists.

Myiah Crawford Dingman added 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Mylee Cooke contributed 7 points and 2 assists. Abby Schieferecke (6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) and Noelle Schmidt (5 points, 6 rebounds) provided balanced support. Mackee Cooke chipped in 5 points with 2 steals, and Kinsley Postier grabbed 6 rebounds while adding 2 points.

In B team action, the Lady Bullpups fell 23-2, with Anna Kahle scoring both points. The B team finished the contest at 3-8.

MMS 42, Clearwater 6 (December 11)

The Lady Bullpups showcased their defensive prowess Wednesday night, limiting Clearwater to just 6 points in a 42-6 runaway victory.

Pavlovich nearly recorded a quadruple-double with 15 points, 11 steals, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. Mylee Cooke scored 11 points, while Noelle Schmidt added 8 points and 4 steals.

Kinsley Postier controlled the glass with 9 rebounds while scoring 5 points. Abby Schieferecke and Myiah Crawford Dingman contributed 2 and 1 point respectively, with Crawford Dingman adding 5 rebounds.

The B team concluded their season with a 34-14 loss to Clearwater, finishing 3-9. Mackee Cooke led with 6 points, Anna Kahle added 4, and Brea LeGron and Abby Schieferecke each scored 2 points.

The undefeated Lady Bullpups will compete in the league tournament Saturday in semifinal action, with the championship game scheduled for Monday.
