Three-time World Cup champion Argentina will face Algeria at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on June 16, 2026 at 8 p.m., likely bringing superstar Lionel Messi to Kansas City in what could be his final World Cup. The Netherlands, featuring Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, will play Tunisia on June 25 at 6 p.m. as part of four group-stage matches FIFA announced Saturday for the Kansas City venue. Argentina enters the 2026 tournament seeking to become only the third nation to win consecutive World Cup titles after capturing the 2022 championship in Qatar. Argentina defeated defending champions France in the 2022 final to claim its first title since 1986.

Kansas City will also host Curaçao vs. Ecuador on June 20 at 7 p.m. and Austria vs. Algeria on June 27 at 9 p.m. during group play. The venue will additionally stage a Round of 32 match on July 3 and a quarterfinal on July 11, with the possibility of featuring the U.S. men's national team or a marquee matchup between international heavyweights.
